The animation is just superb-it looks like something from a modern anime. But nope, 1996. Like, crap, look at the fire in Mario's eyes. That's awesome.

I loved the use of animations for Wario Land: Shake It. Back in 1996 there was a program in México dedicated to Nintendo videogames called Nintendomania, it lasted 5 years or so. For a while they used bits from that comercial (among other stuff) for the intro of the show. I remember I was absolutely intrigued about it as there was no Youtube or Internet to rely on (Internet access was not common). "Is it from a new Mario anime?" I wondered eagerly back then. Ahh... great memories.
