It's worth a download if you want to watch youtube videos on the big screen, but I wouldn't download it at $5 unless I had no other way of doing the mentioned.

I remember Nintendo announcing before Christmas that they were going to release an updated browser, but it never happened. I wonder if they're still planning on releasing it.

The only thing that the channel is good for, like stated before, is for watching videos on youtube. I especially enjoy watching Anime on my tv screen as opposed to my pc screen. I also did hear that an update was in the process, but it never happened I guess. Oh well, b/c I really wish you could view some sites and videos that the browser cannot read right now.

I wonder if they're still planning on releasing it. I'm pretty sure that the updated Wii internet browser was just a rumor that received lots of attention due to some fake screenshots. I don't recall ever reading from an official source that Nintendo had plans of doing anything further with the Internet Channel.

YouTube is just flash video. Any other site that is just flash video should work too. However, most other Websites try to be fancier than YouTube, but only restrict their members to more powerful browsers... I think the Web browser is worth $5 for a nice novelty. Especially if you have parents that limit your computer time like mine used to. And YouTube videos are awesome to watch on TV. Wouldn't a YouTube channel on the Wii main menu be awesome?
