To have a positive experience at the Nintendo Forums, please follow these guidelines as closely as possible. They're pretty much basic netiquette, and they make the place a lot more friendly and enjoyable for all. Reference List This is a list of things that are not allowed at NF. Pornography or other inappropriate pictures Links to pornographic websites Advertising Warez or Piracy Flaming Multiple Accounts Double Posting Inappropriate language In general, these things are disruptive. Doing any of these things may result in a suspension, or ban. Flaming There is a difference between 'flaming' and constructive criticism. Flaming is a direct insult with the sole intent to put someone down. Constructive criticism is intended to help the recipient through analysis. This might come with suggestions on how the subject of the criticism might be improved. The difference between these is the intent. Flaming is meant to antagonize, while constructive criticism offers advice. People might not always take your remarks the way you intended. Please do not overreact to words written on a forum. Advertisements Advertising your site is only allowed in the Advertise Your Site forum. If you advertise anywhere else (including via PM), your thread will be deleted and you could face a warning and a suspension. To be able to create a topic in the Advertise Your Site forum, you must make 101 posts. This is to keep people from joining just to advertise. You may also put links to your sites in your signature. If you post well, people may click on it. Read this for more details on how to advertise your site. Multiple Accounts Multiple accounts are prohibited unless specifically allowed by the forum administration. If you are just dodging a suspension, you will be IP banned. Joke accounts will be banned. A staff member may, however, need to create another account for test purposes. Double posting Double posting is fairly disruptive and annoys a lot of people. Especially Catscratch and he is a jerk. This is not a chat room, it’s a forum. Please be patient, and learn to use the edit button if you have something to add. More details can be found here. Necroposting 'Necroposting', or bumping threads that have been inactive for a long while, is discouraged unless you have something very in-depth to add to the discussion. Reviving a particularly old topic without adding anything significant could result in you facing a warning and/or short-term suspension. Inappropriate Language Our idea of profane language is not too strict at this forum. Words that are not filtered are allowed. However, if excessive profanity is used, it may be seen as offensive, and you may be warned or suspended, depending on the circumstances. DO NOT try to bypass the censor by any means. Name Changes To have your username changed, you must pay 50 Nintendollars. This is to prevent members from changing their usernames excessively.
